JACKSON APPOINTED TO LOUISIANA HOUSING CORPORATION BOARD
Caddo Parish Commissioner Steven Jackson has been appointed to the Louisiana Housing Corporation Board of Directors by Governor John Bel Edwards, representing the 4th Congressional District. He is currently Caddo Parish Commissioner for District 3.
The Louisiana Housing Corporation’s (LHC) mission is to ensure” that every Louisiana resident is granted an opportunity to obtain safe, affordable, energy-efficient housing.” The LHC administers a variety of programs that assist renters, home buyers and owners, developers, nonprofit groups, local governments and other stakeholders in creating safe, affordable, energy-efficient housing.
“I’d like to thank Governor Edwards for the opportunity to serve our region on the LHC Board. Even before COVID19, housing affordability was a critical need for our citizens and it is very likely that we will see a greater need in the months to come,” said Commissioner Jackson. “I look forward to continuing to lend my support to help ensure we create equitable and affordable rental and home ownership opportunities for all citizens in our state,” said Jackson.
The LHC is governed by a board of eleven members that include the State Treasurer, two members appointed by the President of the Senate, two members appointed by the Speaker of the House, and six members appointed by the Governor. The board represents various housing sectors and the public.
