PARISH OF CADDO TO HOLD TIRE AMNESTY DAY OCTOBER 17

Caddo Parish, LA – The Parish of Caddo is providing residents with free tire disposal Saturday, October 17 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Department of Public Works – Solid Waste Division will be accepting tire drop offs at the Parish’s Fleet Services building, located at 1701 Monty Street, Shreveport, LA 71107.  The service is being provided to all residents of Caddo Parish. Proof of residency/identification will be required.

“Illegal dumping continues to be a serious problem. This event is a positive, proactive approach to prevent illegal dumping throughout our Parish and helps keep our communities and the environment clean,” said Caddo Parish director of public works Tim Weaver.  “Proper disposal of tires reduces blight and litter, diverts tires from landfills and prevents mosquitoes and other pests from breeding,” said Weaver.

The following regulations apply:
• NO commercial participation
• Each vehicle is limited to FIVE (5) tires per visit
• Small tires (golf cart, bicycle, etc.) are accepted
• Partial tires (ripped, blown out, etc.) are accepted
• Tires with rims will not be accepted
 • 18 Wheeler tires will not be accepted

Citizens are encouraged to fill out their tire drop form early.  The form can be accessed at:  http://www.caddo.org/DocumentCenter/View/1695/Tire-Drop-Off-Form?bidId=
