Grant of $10,000 will help save more pet lives across Caddo Parish

Caddo Parish, LA– Caddo Parish Animal Services and Mosquito Control (Caddo ASMC) is the recipient of a $10,000 grant investment from Petco Love to support their lifesaving work for animals in Caddo Parish.

Petco Love is a nonprofit leading change for pets nationally by harnessing the power of love to make communities and pet families closer, stronger, and healthier. Since their founding in 1999 as the Petco Foundation, they have empowered organizations with nearly $300 million invested to date in adoption and other lifesaving efforts. Petco Love has helped find loving homes for more than 6.5 million pets in partnership with Petco and more than 4,000 organizations nationwide.

“Today Petco Love announces our investment in Caddo Parish Animal Services and hundreds of other organizations as part of our commitment to create a future in which no pet is unnecessarily euthanized,” said Susanne Kogut, President of Petco Love. “Our local investments are only one component. This month, we will also launch the first of our national tools to empower all animal lovers to drive lifesaving change right alongside us.”

“We are so thankful for the investment made in our operations by Petco Love,” said Travis Clark, Director of Caddo Animal Services and Mosquito Control director. “Petco Love truly believes in connecting the community with our furry friends, and we are excited to put this award to good use by offering more community microchip and rabies vaccination opportunities, further strengthening our commitment to keeping our pets safe.”

Caddo ASMC continues to see positive changes, higher adoption rates and greater collaboration with rescue and animal welfare partners in the community. Despite the challenges of 2020, Caddo ASMC saw the highest percentage of positive outcomes in the department’s history, including an 86 percent live release rate.
