Caddo Parish Parks and Recreation Department Seeks National Accreditation

Caddo Parish Parks and Recreation Department is pleased to announce that the Department has been approved to seek national accreditation with the National Recreation and Parks Association’s (NRPA) Commission for Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies (CAPRA). CAPRA provides quality assurance and quality improvement of accredited park and recreation agencies throughout the United States by providing agencies with a management system of best practices. CAPRA is the only national accreditation of park and recreation agencies and is a valuable measure of an agency’s overall quality of operation, management, and service to the community.

“Caddo Parish Parks and Recreation Department staff is excited to be in this position to take our park system to new heights. A special thanks to the Caddo Parish Administration and our Caddo Parish Commissioners for their confidence in our department and providing the resources needed to complete this daunting task,” said Patrick Wesley, Director-Caddo Parish Parks and Recreation.

Benefits of National Accreditation:

  • Helps secure external financial support and reduce costs for the community.
  • Holds an agency accountable to the public and ensures responsiveness to meet their needs.
  • Ensures that all staff are providing quality customer service.
