    Become a Junior Naturalist! Learn all about ornithology! The mission of the Junior Naturalists' Program is to bring together natural resource specialists with young people, ages 7-12, to foster an understanding and appreciation on Northwest Louisiana's plants, water, soils, and wildlife, and to promote good stewardship. A special award will be given for each workshop attended and completed. This program will be ongoing and classes can be made up when they are offered again. You must preregister for this event by calling (318) 929-2806. Space is limited.

  2. I-Nature Series: Photo Editing

    Love taking photos of nature? Want to learn how make your photos really "POP"? Join Park Naturalist Dillon Soderstrom for an introduction to photo-editing software Adobe Lightroom. He will start with the basics and you will learn how to implement the most useful tools in this program. No equipment required. Take notes and ask questions during this demonstration. Space is limited, please call (318) 929-2806 to register. Ages 16 & up. After registering please feel free to submit 1 to 3 of your favorite nature photographs for editing demonstrations during class to dsoderstrom@caddo.org

    Bird nests come in many shapes and sizes. Learn about common nests in our area and the “lifecycle” of nests, then try your hand at constructing and protecting a nest. All ages welcome.     Learn how you and your family can be part of Cornell Lab of Ornithology's NestWatch, a fun and easy citizen science project you can do in your own backyard! As a NestWatcher, you keep tabs on bird family life, following the progression from incubated eggs, to fuzzy chicks, to gawky youngsters ready to take their first fluttering flight. All ages welcome.
